OSX Tiger Bluetooth Configuration

To set up the MiniCV Bluetooth device on you Mac OSX Tiger machine, please take the following steps:

Make sure you have a Bluetooth module installed in your computer or a USB Bluetooth module connected to your computer. Also, make sure your MicroCV is turned on (The yellow LED should be lit)


Select Bluetooth settings from System Preferences

Select Setup new device

Click Continue

Select "Any device" and click continue

Wait for your machine to find the device, then select it. Then click "Passkey Options"

Select "Use specific passkey" and then click Continue

Click Continue

Click Continue

When prompted for a passkey, enter "1111". Then click Continue

Click Quit

Select the new device in the Bluetooth Devices tab and click "Edit serial ports"

Use the default name proved by the configuration. Take not of the name (you can copy it to the clipboard by selecting it and pressing command + C". Then click "Apply"

In the Bluetooth drivers that you downloaded, open the file "minicv.ini" with Text edit

In the line starting with "serial", change the text from ".minicv" to the name created in step 13. Then save the file.

Run the Bluetooth driver by clicking "MiniCV.Command"

The diagnostic window should appear stating a successful open of the device. Additionally, the LED on your MicroCV should become green.
